Clickair is a low cost airline based in Barcelona, which operates flights to the Catalan capital from several cities all over Europe.

easyJet

The low cost carrier easyJet operates flights to Barcelona from the major British airports and also from Paris, Lyon, Geneva, Basel, Berlin, Dortmund and Milan.

 

Ryanair

The Irish no frills airline flies to Girona airport (100 km north of Barcelona) from several locations throughout Europe.

Barcelona - El Prat Airport

Barcelona airport, "El Prat", is situated 13 km southwest of the city and can be reached by train, bus, car, or taxi.

Trains 

El Prat airport is connected to Barcelona by trains leaving every half hour that stop at the train stations of Barcelona Sants, Passeig de Gràcia, and Estació de França. The trains run between 6 am and 11:44 pm from the airport and between 5:12 and 22:42 pm from Barcelona. The trip takes between 20 (Barcelona Sants) and 30 (Estació de França) minutes. A one-way ticket costs 2.5 Euro.  

Buses 

It is also possible to reach Barcelona by buses connecting El Prat airport to Plaça Catalunya. The buses leave every 15 minutes – between 6 am and 1 am from the airport and between 5:30 am and 0:15 am from Plaça Catalunya. The first stop, Plaça d'Espanya, is about 25 minutes away. The ticket costs 3.75 Euro. 

Taxis 

A trip by taxi from the airport to the centre of Barcelona costs about 25-30 Euro. The trip takes about 15-25 minutes depending on traffic.  


Cars aereo

European Union citizens do not need an international driving licence to hire a car in Spain, as a national one with at least one year validity is sufficient. An international driving license is needed by citizens from other countries. To reach Barcelona you will need to travel the Autovia (highway) C-246 Barcelona-Castelldefels. 

Precautions 

If you decide to reach Barcelona from the airport by train, and especially by bus, be careful at arrival as tourists loaded with lots of luggage are among thieves’ favourite targets. 

Girona airport  

The low-cost airline Ryanair flies to the airport of the city of Girona, about 100 km north of Barcelona. The transfer from the airport of Girona to Barcelona (Estaciò d'Autobusos Barcelona Nord – close to the underground station Arc de Triomf) takes place via buses which leave after the arrivals of Ryanair's flights.  The bus trip takes about 70 minutes and the price of the ticket is 12 Euro.
